Working as a Special Operations Weather Apprentice provides support combat operations need to stay prepared throughout a mission. Your help will make sure there will be fewer surprises a unit will have to face while on dangerous missions. Your duties will go beyond just predicting the weather as you will help your unit to avoid possibly damaging decisions.
Skills You Will Learn
To make sure you will be able to provide the right information for your unit, you will be taught how to read data from weather satellites and radars. You will be able to use the different instruments which will be made available to you including computer work stations. You will also have the ability to prepare reports about inclement weather including warnings and advisories.

When working as a Special Operations Weather Apprentice, you will be stationed throughout the world. You will work in different climate conditions which is why your training will prepare you to analyze data from all different hemispheres and weather conditions. You will be trained at Lackland AFB in Texas on subjects including Weather Technology.
You will be paid a Specialists pay. This also comes with additional benefits depending on where you are stationed and your pay grade. You will have the ability to advance into higher positions depending on your qualifications and your ability to learn while on the job. You will also have the ability to earn credits which will be transferrable to colleges so you can earn more specialized degrees.
