There is always a possibility a base can be attacked or fall victim to a natural disaster. It does not matter which of these situation occur, there is a possibility of a diminished capacity for the base to be able to protect the nation. Fortunately, the United States Air Force has plans in place to get a base back up to full readiness as quickly as possible. As an Emergency Management Apprentice this is exactly what you will do.

Your Duties and Responsibilities

A soon as the base is damaged and reduced in its capacity it is your duty to work as quickly as possible with all available resources to bring the base up to full operational capacity as quickly as possible. You will be operating through a mobile command center if necessary to coordinate the rehabilitation of the base.

Training and Response

Part of your training will be to train others about what to do should there ever be call for plans to be put into action. You will train at the tech school in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO to make sure you are fully versed on what is expected of you and to make sure you will be able to perform while under pressure.

The response you have to a situation will be immediate. You will issue commands which include plans to reconstruct and clear debris so that the base can reopen as quickly as possible. You will also be responsible for calling in additional support as needed.
