The United States Air Force has its own division of entertainment professionals. These professionals are responsible for enriching the experience of the airman. This is accomplished through music which is performed by groups of highly skilled and well trained individuals. When you work as a premier band apprentice you are working to provide the music which will enrich the lives of every airman.
Variety of Assignments
Because there are a number of different ways in which the US Air Force uses music, there are a number of different ways in which you can be assigned. You may be assigned to a marching band that performs at ceremonies, driller and parades. You may also be assigned to dance orchestras, regular orchestras and concert bands with the duty of entertaining the troops in their downtime.

The training you will receive will be on-going because as a musician you will be constantly growing. You will learn to arrange music, make minor repairs to instruments as well as learning to be a member of a band or to lead the band as a conductor. The training and leadership you will gain in the US Air Force will put you in the perfect position to pursue a career in the music industry.
